PRESS RELEASE (7/31/2013)- Toronto Hip Hop artist D’NME gained nearly 1 million views for the video of his new single “Can’t Nobody Do It My Way” in its first week of release. While the numbers don’t lie, the title chosen for the single sparked lively conversation among his fans and Hip Hop media. To give fans a “face-to-face” type of answer to their questions, D’NME sat down with StarForceHipHop.com to clarify the meaning behind the song and share some insight about his passion for music of all genres.
Canada’s rising hip hop star D’NME is catching the bullet train through the digital music world. His newest single, “Can’t Nobody Do It My Way,” materialized on high power urban music sites like StarforceHipHop.com and ThatCrack.com, while gaining feature articles with digital magazine outlets like The Hype Magazine and Hood Stars Magazine. In essence, we could be seeing the next Hip Hop phenomenon to flow out of the Canadian North.
Recently D’NME and G Unit member Lloyd Banks, one of the biggest mixtape rappers in history, both celebrated achieving gold certification for recent projects on DatPiff, a popular mixtape site. D’NME’s golden goose was entitled “Guns & Roses” and received rave reviews by some of the top name DJs in the industry like DJ Smallz and DJ Green Lantern.
“Can’t Nobody Do It My Way,” differs from the standard Hip Hop offerings of today; Combining rock and pop music influences within the track, and the signature D’NME rapid lyrical delivery, has created what is proving to be a well received offering from Canada’s “next to blow” Hip Hop star.
D’NME recently covered The Hype Magazine and in his interview, he describes his style:
“My style changes depending on the record. Overall, I’d say I have a pretty dark sound, but if the record is lighter in regard to the beat I’m rapping on, the content is darker and edgier. My flow can be very rapid and in your face but overall, my style is hip hop. Even if I make a pop record, the way I rap and stay in the pocket of the beat is hip hop.”
D’NME…remember the name because it appears his music is going to come storming through your system like a hurricane. Moving rapidly, gaining steam, destroying the sub-standard music standing in his path, D’NME is the approaching musical storm. Hip Hop media seems to have this artist on their “watch list” as his movement continues to grow and he delves into the crossover market as well with Rock and Pop feature appearances for his upcoming and as yet untitled album project.
