LIGHTNING RELEASES: MIAMI, Florida (3/20/2014)– SOMOS Distribution, the international company responsible for distributing television programming and led by Luis Villanueva, will be at the 2014 MIPTV with a varied product catalog, highlighting important genres for programmers such as novelas and movies, complimented by offering formats, sports and assortments, among other content. The intentions of the Miami distributor are to strengthen the company’s position to offer their clients high quality programming that satisfies the needs of the different audiences, as well as production projects that are adaptable to different markets as part of its affiliation with Sparks Network, a company that unites successful television producers from across the world.

SOMOS Distribution will offer new products such as “Secretos”, a successful series from Ecuavisa, which presents a group of 21 stories mixed with suspense, psychological thriller and drama. These stories are directed by Peky Andino with more than 200 recognizable actors. In addition, the Turkish novelas (a sensation in the international markets, a key genre for programmers), with the presentation of Kurt Seyit & Sura, which tells the story of a rich handsome Lieutenant who falls in love with a noble woman amidst turbulent times. The quality of production, locations, talent and overall bill has led their entry into international markets, along with the protection from the strength of their plots. SOMOS Distribution has obtained the representation of a group of these productions (Ezel and 20 Minutes among others), which have received much acceptance, in both finished versions and scripts.

The Miami Company will also offer the #1 in ratings in The Americas Nickelodeon’s telenovela, “11-11: En Mi Cuadra Nada Cuadra”, showing the life and love of Kike, an adolescent who changes into a young man by virtue of a magical location.

In terms of movies, SOMOS Distribution offers about 40 high quality films at MIPTV, with a majority having received awards from different festivals along with high profile and popular actors such as Angelina Jolie, David Carradine, Faye Dunaway, Daniel Baldwin, Carrie-Anne Moss, Sean Young, Natalie Dormer, Abigail Spencer, Joe Mantegna, Ari Gold and Mario Lopez, among others.

Closing their offer, SOMOS Distribution presents two product formats with their association with Sparks Networks, among them “Exit,” (where a team of five to seven participants have to exit three rooms closed with lots of locks and many cunning tricks, with speed and teamwork) and “Ultimate Brain” (where the most intelligent people from a country try to resolve puzzles using intelligence, intuition, and creativity), as well as sports such as Mixed Martial Arts, Lucha Libre and Boxing. Also listed are relevant programs from MegaTV such as varieties of “Bayly” and “Charytin and Felipe” among others.
