Shopping frenzy starts in America

Shopping frenzy starts in America

Bratislava, Slovakia – November 28, 2013 – Every year, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day is a shopping frenzy in America, with huge discounts creating a different kind of feast – this time, for shopaholics. However, experts are predicting that the masses of shoppers will soon be a thing of the past because online shopping is quickly coming to the fore.  This means European customers will soon also be able to take advantage of the day’s steep discounts.

Sales during Black Friday 2012 showed a dramatic increase in the purchase of mobile devices, as well as a rapid rise in online purchases.* This growth in the number of smartphones and tablets has created an opportunity for mobile applications, which are now more accessible. So, Sygic, the leader in offline navigation, has responded by offering its biggest discount ever on selected apps. “Sygic knows no borders. Therefore, we have decided to join the shopping spree and offer, for the very first time, 50% off the most popular apps: Sygic GPS Navigation Europe and North America for the iOS and Android operating systems,” says Michal Štencl, Sygic’s CEO.

Customers hunt for bargains by shopping online, at brick and mortar stores, and on their mobiles – sometimes simultaneously. Last year, 58% of American consumers used a smartphone to do their shopping. And while purchases by shoppers referred to e-shops through social networks have decreased, this year the purchases are likely to increase.
