SACRAMENTO, CA – This week The Sacramento Bee debuts its Capitol Alert Insider Edition app for iPhone and iPad. Capitol Alert Insider Edition was created to give those whose work depends on what happens at the California State Capitol all the inside information they need to do their jobs.
The “Insider” app will provide breaking news alerts, political coverage and The Bee’s popular blogs to readers anywhere, anytime. As California heads into the 2014 elections, it will help users keep up with the fast-moving and sometimes chaotic world of state politics.
“Our chief mission with this product is to be useful,” said The Bee’s Political Editor Amy Chance. “We want to provide insiders with early information, cut through the Twitter clutter and put key information about the Legislature and California politics at their fingertips on a mobile device.”
Key features of the app are early access to the Field Poll results and a pre-publication peek at The Bee’s opinion section. By 8 PM each evening, Bee editorials on state topics, Jack Ohman’s political cartoons and Dan Morain’s column will be available in the “Insider Access” section.
Looking for information on the California Legislature? The Bee has compiled a directory, which provides a quick look at each lawmaker and email access to their schedulers and staff.
A curated Twitter feed sends out only the key voices you need to hear to follow the California political conversation.
“The Bee has long been a journalistic force in Capitol coverage, reporting the news and holding politicians accountable even as many media outlets left town during the recession. This app continues our coverage commitment and allows our audience to stay on top of news easily all day long, every day,” added The Bee’s Executive Editor Joyce Terhaar.
The Capitol Alert Insider app is available for iPhone or iPad for $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. For more information and to purchase, go to:sacbee.com/insider.
