Online Survey Announced for Parenting Educators
LIGHTNING RELEASES (12/9/2013) – The National Parenting Education Network (NPEN), a dynamic community of practitioners working with parents to support families, is sponsoring an online survey to learn more about the role of paraprofessionals and peer educators who work with parents. Liz Pearce, NPEN Chair, explains, “As we scan the breadth and depth of parenting education and support across the United States, it becomes evident that discovering what resources are available will help us advance the field of parenting education. Responses will be confidential and identifying information will not be collected unless voluntarily submitted. A summary of our survey will be published and appear on the NPEN website (www.npen.org).”
Individuals who respond to this 20-minute confidential survey by December 11th will be eligible to enter a drawing for a ParentingPress gift certificate.
The short survey can be reached at: https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=157252
Please direct inquiries about the research study and survey to Dr. Sandra McClintic, Texas Women’s University, at smcclintic@twu.edu
Evidence continues to mount that parenting education and support services strengthen families and address a range of socials issues including “economic inequality, poverty and crime.” Diverse practitioners in health care, social services, education and other community settings are increasingly reaching out to support parents in this vital role.  Many of these practitioners are members of NPEN. If you’re interested in becoming a member or for more information about NPEN, visit our website www.npen.org,  or  please contact NPEN Chair, Liz Pearce, at LizPearce3@gmail.com.
