Mississauga Halton CCAC awarded highest possible standing from Accreditation Canada – Proof that it is keeping its promise to patients

LIGHTNING RELEASES: Etobicoke, ON (12/20/2013) – The Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is pleased to announce that it has achieved Full Accreditation with Exemplary Status, earning a score of 100 per cent, the highest distinction awarded by Accreditation Canada, a not-for-profit organization that provides health services organization with a comprehensive accreditation process. The recognition was received following a rigorous on-site review of the organization and its services.

Mississauga Halton CCAC CEO Caroline Brereton says, “We have a vital role to play within Ontario’s health care system. Achieving exemplary status is a validation that we are delivering on our promise to support our patients with safe, high quality health care.”

Following a rigorous on-site review of the organization and its services, Accreditation Canada surveyors recognized the Mississauga Halton CCAC as a dynamic, forward-looking organization, with patient safety embedded in all activities. Also highlighted was the organization’s culture of teamwork and respect for one another.

Rob Stansfield, MBA, Mississauga Halton CCAC Board Chair explains, “Accreditation is not a destination, it is a milestone, an important one, along our continuous journey.”
