Former IBM Senior Researcher Joins LexInnova as Chief Technology Officer

Addition of Amitabh Ojha Marks Latest Move in LexInnova’s Aggressive Market Expansion

Lexinnova is pleased to announce the addition of Amitabh Ojha as Chief Technology Officer. Ojha brings with him over 25 years of experience in information technology. Ojha will focus on bringing additional technology tools to clients to support their efforts to better manage large-scale litigations.

“Amitabh fills a critical role at LexInnova,” said LexInnova CEO Darshan Mujumdar. “With him on our team, we will better be able to link our people, processes and technology with our clients to drive greater value in the services we provide.”

The addition of Ojha follows a year of aggressive expansion for LexInnova, which added a Litigation Services Group from another top international legal services provider to help expand and drive its overall business of providing end-to-end patent consulting and litigation services to help lawyers enhance capabilities in cost-effective ways. The company is singularly focused on helping lawyers provide greater value to corporations whose businesses are dependent upon scientific and technical innovation.

“The founders of LexInnova have the vision to be leaders in their domain and have brought together the best people from the industry to create a winning combination,” Ojha said. “Working with this excellent team provides an opportunity to design, construct and deploy some very exciting solutions for enabling the leadership to realize the business vision.”

One of Ojha’s priorities will be the development of a project-management focused application that law firms can utilize on litigation and investigation projects of any size in order to analyze meta data and streamline document review.  The project is currently available at no cost in beta form and will be formally launched this spring.

LexInnova’s Managing Director, Lee McCallister, is enthusiastic about the addition to the team, commenting that, “Ojha will help LexInnova bring fully managed review and legal project management to the less document intensive reviews that are currently too small to attract the attention of managed review and predictive coding vendors even though the attorneys running such projects still need assistance.”

An Engineering graduate of IIT Delhi, Ojha has an extensive IT background and has worked in senior positions at leading organizations across several industries. His engineering and IT experience includes power projects, media, computer software and business process outsourcing.

He has been recognized with awards for his work at TimesGroup, the leading media company in India, and at Daksh (later IBM Daksh), where he was instrumental in establishing the entire IT platform and processes that enabled the company to grow from less than 2,000 employees to more than 30,000. This project awarded him “The Most Impactful Innovation of the Year,” in 2006 and led to a senior research position at IBM India Research Labs in Delhi.

He also served a stint as CTO at UnitedLex, where he built the IT team, developed several delivery applications, and enhanced service delivery processes for the Intellectual Property, Contracts & Sourcing and Litigation Support groups.

Ojha is not the first senior talent that LexInnova has attracted from larger and more established Legal Process Outsourcers since launching its Litigation Services Group earlier this year. In August, Lee McCallister joined the company from Pangea3 with his team of five senior project managers.
