LIGHTNING RELEASES 04/01/2014 — Denver, CO – Dr. Jack McInroy of Southmoor Psychological Services is a psychologist specializing in interactive, solution-focused therapy. Dr. McInroy’s therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address their personal challenges, specifically in the areas of anxiety, depression, substance abuse and familial conflict.
“What I try to do is take the person at their word as to what their problem is and help them resolve that problem,” says Dr. McInroy. “I don’t subscribe to the belief that you see me for a couple of years and we’ll see what we can get worked out. I would rather be specific. I don’t solve underlying personality problems or psychosis, but I can certainly help patients cope better.”
Dr. McInroy has dedicated nearly his entire life to the field of mental health; he’s been practicing in the Denver area since 1975. In that time, he has asserted himself among the country’s more innovative psychologists, integrating complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
Dr. McInroy will often employ ALPHA-STIM® to complement his therapeutic sessions. ALPHA–STIM® offers a drug free alternative for treating chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. The application of direct electrical treatment to the brain promotes positive cellular activity that helps to restore cellular structure. In doing so, it relieves anxiety and helps to alleviate depression and chronic pain.
“I have a reputation in town of being the first to try anything and other people are waiting around to see if I fall on my face,” says Dr. McInroy. “It rarely happens.”
Though Dr. McInroy treats families, couples as well as individuals, he says his favorite patients to treat are adolescents. Parents are often surprised by how well he relates to kids, a segment of the patient population most psychologists don’t want to treat.
“My patients are my ambassadors in the community,” says Dr. McInroy. “They all say they appreciate my personalized approach to treatment and the fact that they know I care, so I’m most proud of the fact that patients come back.”
Close-Up Talk Radio will feature Dr. Jack McInroy in an interview with Jim Masters on April 3rd at 1pm EST.
