PRESS RELEASE: Hamilton, New Zealand (10/18/2013) – New Zealand further enhanced its reputation as leaders in the science and technology sectors, with Hamilton firm CLIMsystems taking out a Special Achievement Award in Geographic Information Systems.
Held in San Diego, California, this award was recently given out at the 2013 Esri International User Conference. This award recognizes the vision, leadership, hard work and innovative use of Esri’s geographic information system (GIS) technology.
Using Esri’s AcrGIS technology, CLIMsystems have developed a climate-modelling interface with the recently released AR5 climate data. CLIMsystems have already processed this data for the United States of America allowing for high-resolution mapping. Other countries are currently being processed, with this data being released over the coming months.
Dr Peter Urich – Managing Director of CLIMsystems says “our relationship with Esri has meant that climate data is much easier to access and apply to any number of projects across multiple sectors”.
“These awards identify the organizations and people that are using the power of geography to improve our world and drive change,” says Esri President and Founder, Jack Dangermond. “At Esri, we are always deeply inspired by the passion and innovation of our users. They deserve recognition for both solving their communities’ greets challenges and for their invaluable contribution to the continued evolution of geographic science.”
